Ele Warder for HM?
Okay Here is my idea; Something like this is surely around I just havent really seen it, Im thinking is it possible to create a viable HM WardKeeping Ele?
Using Something like [Ward Against Harm] [Ward against elements] [ward of stability] [ward against melee] [glyph of lesser energy] With something along these lines as the base build coulndt we branch into skills such as; [splinter weapon] [sundering weapon] [flesh of my flesh] [weapon of warding] [wielders boon] Now of course some of these are not the best skills, but oh well just an idea Now apart from all that The only snag I see is energy management.
Regards Twisted.

Well sincerely in PvE, [[ebon battle standard of courage] can pretty much replace ward against elements and ward against harm.
That will free your elite that can be used for energy management or other stuff.

Wards require prolonged and stationary battles to be effective. Running a 10~ spec melee on a midline is fine considering the damage HM melee outputs. But devoting one slot to just wards and buffs is gimping yourself. Prot spells, weakness and blind can be put on midlines without sacrificing damage or utility.
To benefit from ward against harm, you have to spec heavily into water - which in PvE doesn't have many uses.
Bsurge and Enfeebling blood counter physical mobs fine.
Proper positioning counters aoe spells, also running a mesmer or some form of interrupt.
Prot spirit stops big domage.

I'd base my earth build around Unsteady Ground, Stoning and Churrning Earth for HM. Then throw in one or two of earth magic wards depending on your team build and area you're going to. Add Pain Inverter for the fun of watching things explode or GDW if you have a melee in your team.

[build prof=e/any earth=12+1+1 ener=12+1][sandstorm][optional][optional][ward against melee (PvE)][ward against foes][glyph of lesser energy][earth attunement][Resurrection Signet][/build]
- Either [[Earthquake] or [[Eruption] for the first optional slot.
For the second
- [[Great Dwarf Weapon].
- [[Glyph of Swiftness] to reduce recharge times.
- [[Grasping Earth] instead of Ward Against Foes.
- [[Intensity].
- [[Ebon Battle Standard of Courage]/[[Ebon Battle Standard of Honor]/[[Ebon Battle Standard of Wisdom].
- On a hero, interruption skills, such as [[Power Drain], can work out great.
- [[Arcane Echo] to copy Sandstorm.
- [[Weapon of Warding (PvE)] and [[Protective Was Kaolai].
- [[Aegis (PvE)].
- [[Convert Hexes] or [[Remove Hex].
- [[Draw Conditions].
- [[Splinter Weapon (PvE)] and [[Ancestor's Rage (PvE)].
- [[Mark of Pain] and/or [[Enfeebling Blood (PvE)].
But in NF or Eotn, it might be better to take Herta, the Earth Henchman, and free up your slots for something else.

first of all armor cant stack so having both [ward against harm] and [ward against elements] is pretty pointless. second of all, as said, the PvE wards will be a lot more useful, so pick 1 or 2 from these [Ebon Battle Standard of Courage][Ebon Battle Standard of Honor][Ebon Battle Standard of Wisdom] that way you free up your elite and you're not stuck with Water Magic in PvE. combining Rit skills on your Ele works nicely in both PvE and PvP, however you need to use something from the Ele line to actually make it worthwhile, such as [sandstorm][unsteady ground][blinding surge], etc than bring the 1-2 wards, add the appropriate attunement and some support skills and you're set.

while wards are nice,it is disturbing that heroes have crap ai to stay in wards, while mobs such as chars for example do not have this issue

The Earth ones are more used for their secondary effects (knockdown for Unsteady and Churning, Blind for Eruption). Casting them within a Battle Standard of Honor can bump the damage up, however.
This certainly means [Unsteady Ground] > [Sandstorm], however. This is probably true in Normal as well unless the targets are resistant or immune to knockdowns.

If you are looking for an all around ele, ward of stability, ward against element and eruption to shutdown melee and ranger + AP caller spammer (+GoLE) is a good direction.
If you don't want AP based build, Unsteady is one of best choice for warder. Followed by eruption, you will shutdown most powerfull melees nearly permanently in nearby range.
